XPlan File Export
Prerequisites for exporting the XML file for Simple Fund 360:
- Set the BGL Identifier;
- Datafeed Import is allowed under your User Capability.
Set the BGL Identifier - each client
Note: If you are a previous Simple Fund Desktop user who has setup identifiers for clients, skip this step.
In XPlan, while accessing a client:
- On the navigation menu, select Portfolios, then select Admin > External Accounts.
- Select Add External Client.
- Select BGL Entity from the Vendor list.
- Enter a BGL unique identifier for this portfolio in the Vendor's Client ID box.
- Select Add. The maps the entire portfolio and its sub-funds in XPLAN to a BGL super fund.
Export XML
- Access the datafeeds manager by selecting Home >> Portfolio Functions >> User Datafeeds.
- In the navigation menu, select Export to BGL > Export Data. The BGL Exporter displays.
-
Under Export Options set the Date Range to export, and the Type of Date to use (Trade Date, Settlement Date or Tax Date).
Handle SMSF/Trust Listing
The checkbox Handle SMSF/Trust member linking is left unticked. Member transactions are not supported in the XPlan feed.
- Select Include XPLAN gain/loss in order to pass the XPLAN calculated capital gain or loss on sales/disposals.
- In the Export Entities table, select the client portfolios to export.
- Select Export. XPLAN processes the export as a background process. When completed, the exported information is given to the user in an XPLAN message. The exported information is in an XML file, which is sent to the user in a Zip archive file. The XML file must be extracted from the Zip file to import it into BGL.

Data Import
What data is imported?
All investment cash, income (dividends, interest, distributions), and investment transactions will be allocated to the correct account in Simple Fund 360. For purchases of new investments not previously held by the fund, new accounts will be created and transactions will be automatically allocated. Member transactions such as contributions are not imported.
Which transactions will be matched?
Investment and income transactions will be automatically matched to their corresponding cash transactions by Simple Fund 360.
Any cash transaction that is not investment related (e.g. an expense) will be automatically matched once Transaction Matching Rules have been set up.
If you do not set this up, the feed will automatically create new accounts and you might end up with duplicate accounts.
