How do I account for Spouse and Child contributions?
When adding a Spouse and Child contribution, the contribution is posted to the 24200 account. Then in the more details panel, the balance is entered into the Spouse and Child field.
1. Member A receives a Non-Concessional contribution of $10,000. The following entry would be posted.
In the More Details panel, the $10,000 would be recorded as Non-Concessional
2. Member A then decides to allocate half of the $10,000 to Member B. The following entry would then be posted. The sub-account for the 46000 entry would be Member A. The sub-account for the 24200 entry would be Member B.
Note that if you would like the 46000 entry Benefits Paid/Transfers Out to appear in the Operating Statement, in the More Details panel for the 46000 entry, you must toggle Yes on the Display in Operating Statement toggle.
In the More Details panel of the 24200 entry, the $5,000 would be recorded as Spouse and Child.
Once the transaction details have been entered, select Post
